The short version
- Your financial data is visible only to your account.
- We don’t connect to your bank. Flowkeep doesn’t use bank-linking services like Plaid — you enter information yourself or import a statement file.
- Statement files are read in your browser; only the bills you choose to add are saved.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- We don’t sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
- You can delete your account and data at any time from your Profile.
What we collect
Account information
Your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash) or, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile details Google shares (name, email and profile photo). You can also add a profile photo and time zone.
Information you add to Flowkeep
Bills and accounts, expected and received income, debts and payments, net-worth assets and balances, goals and targets, notes, and your settings. This is the information the app exists to organize, and it’s tied to your account.
Purchase information
When you buy Flowkeep we receive a record of the payment from Stripe — the amount, date, status, the email used at checkout and a receipt link — but not your card details.
Messages you send us
If you use the Contact page or email us, we keep your name, email and message so we can reply.
Technical information
Like most web services, our hosting providers process basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and request logs to keep the service running, secure and error-free.
Statement uploads
When you import a CSV, Excel or PDF statement on the Accounts page, the file is read inside your browser to find recurring charges. The file itself is not uploaded to or stored on our servers. Only the bills you review and choose to add are saved to your account.
How we use it
- To provide Flowkeep: show your bills, paychecks, debts, net worth and goals.
- To create and secure your account, and to process your purchase.
- To answer your questions and send service messages, such as receipts, password resets and important account notices.
- To keep the service reliable and secure, and to fix problems.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use your financial data for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Flowkeep, and only as needed:
- Hosting and database — our application and database providers store your account and the data you add.
- Stripe — processes payments.
- Google — if you choose “Continue with Google” to sign in.
- Email delivery — sends account and support emails.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Flowkeep or its users, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information).
Payments
Checkout runs on Stripe’s secure payment page. Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy; Flowkeep only receives a confirmation of the payment and a receipt link.
Storage & security
Your data is stored with our cloud database provider and protected by access rules that limit every record to the account that created it. Connections are encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.
Retention & deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account from your Profile, your account and the data you added are permanently deleted. We may keep limited records where required for legal, tax or accounting reasons — for example, purchase records.
Your choices & rights
- View and update your information in the app and on your Profile.
- Delete your account and data from your Profile at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask questions about it, by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights, and we’ll honor them as required by law.
Cookies & local storage
Flowkeep uses your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and remember a few preferences. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
Flowkeep isn’t intended for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as Flowkeep changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll let you know by email or in the app.
